Momal and Rano
In 16th
Century:
The reputation of palace and of
Momal’s dazzling beauty soon became legend. Hamir Soomro the ruler of
Umer Kot in Sindh, and his three ministers, were attracted to the magical Kak.
One of the ministers, Rano Mahendro was the
young. Hamir attempted to reach the palace but failed. The other ministers,
too, failed. Rano then try his luck. He was an extremely intelligent and
courageous man which led him to succeed in reaching the palace, unharmed. Mumal
was so impressed that she accepted her as her consort.
One day, Rano reached Kak Mahal
unusually late due to some business that he had to attend to. Momal
got so frustrated that she planned to play a trick on him. She dressed her
sister Sumal in a man’s attire and made her sit by her side. When Rano
arrived, he mistook Somal as a Momal’s lover. Out of disgust he left his riding
cane besides Momal’s bed and returned to Umer Kot. Momal pleaded Rano to
forgive her but Rano ignored her requests.
Out of desperation, she set a fire
and jumped in it. When Rano came to know of this, he rushed to the place where
he saw that Momal was already in flames, he joined her to be consumed by the
fire along with Momal.
In 21st
Century:
Momal was a rich girl lived with her sister and mother. She
was blessed with spotless beauty. Any one sees her got stund by her ethereal
heavenly looks. Her father was famous industrialist of the city. Before his
death he named his whole business empire to both her daughters.
Momal and her youner sister Somal both were studying. Momal
was doing software engineering and somal was in medicine. Their mother looked
after the business as their caretaker.Both sisters had an attitude problem as
both were of marriageable age but they refused every man. Their mother talked
about out of their arrogance.
They played a trick, as both the sisters had their facebook
accounts so they made a page there and momal designed special software having a
palace in its way in maze form. The maze, that kept on changing every five
seconds.
They displayed this “palace maze puzzle” on their facebook
page and wrote “who ever will find the way to palace within five seconds momal
will marry that man”. After writing all terms and conditions, out of which one
condition was “no suitor will ever ask for the picture of momal”, because she
did not display her picture there. Many young and old guys attempted the puzzle
but no one could make it.
Momal classmate Rana Jahangir, whose nick name was rano was
very attracted to momal. But he was not that well off so he could not ever gain
courage to even talk to her. One day he was checking his facebook status. He by
chance came across the page made by momal. Her name was not mentioned there as
she put strict privacy settings there. Rano found it very interesting. At first
he thought that it would be a fake thing but than he thought let’s give it a
try. As he too was studying software engineering so at first he took some time
to study the puzzle than with luck he made his way to palace in just 3 seconds
and than he messaged on page, “that who ever it is now bound to marry him
according to condition”.
When momal got message. She felt terrible. Because she never
had expected anyone to decode the puzzle and it was just a fun thing to her.
But there was this desires too, that she wanted to see that genius guy who
solved her puzzzle. So, she messaged back and gives name and time to a renowned
hotel to meet that guy.Rano also wanted to see that other person, as his trust
was ill because of facebook’s fake identities. He often used to call fakebook
instead of facebook.But he was bit excited about the thought what if it was all
true?
Finally he reached the hotel at the told time. He was
wearing white shirt with blue jeans and was looking very handsome. He told
momal about her dressing so that she could identify him.
When momal entered the hotel it was an hour late from the
time she called rano. But when they saw each other, they got surprised and
happy at the same time. For rano it was hard to believe that the girl he admired
in his whole life was now standing right before him. They hesitantly greeted
each other and started to chat nervously.With time they feel in deep love with
each other. They started to meet and call. They were head over heels in love.
One day rano had to go out of city for a job interview. The
day he had to come back momal thought of a plan to make him jealous because he
spent more days there than he told. So momal thought to take revenge. She made
her sister somal dressed like a man and sat beside her. When rano came to her
house and saw her embracing another man in her room. He felt heart broken and
left the bouquet with his name slit on it, down at her door to make her know
that he saw her with other man.
He stopped contacting her, replying to her messages and was
in distress. Momal on the other hand was feeling guilty out of what she did.
She tried a lot to contact him but there was no way, as rano had changed his
all contact number. Her condition was getting worse day by day. The thought of
loosing rano made her a lunatic.
Somal was very upset about her sister. She tried to convence
her but it was no of use. Finally she decided to meet rano and told her
everything. She with a great difficulty found rano’s address, grab her man’s
attire and off to meet him. She reached there, change her looks as man’s as
before and ring the door bell. Rano opened the door and got angry to see the
same man at his door, only when he was about to punch his face she removed her
fake mustashes and told him everything. He felt very sorry for what he did to
momal then they both went to meet momal.
When they reached her home they came to know that momal
swallowed 20 sleeping pills and now she is in hospital. Rano was feeling very
ashamed and guilty. He was responsiable for all this. He prayed a lot and God
listened to him and when doctor came, he told that momal was out of danger
now.Momal and rano embraced each other and wept bitterly. Momal’s mother was
crying too and she anounced their wedding.
In heaven two souls were very happy and they thanked God
that He did not let happened again what had been once past, the souls were of
Momal Rathore and Rano Mahindra Singh.
24 Hour News Cycle
About news, it is said that if a dog bites man it is not news but if a man bites a dog it is news. There are many news channels that are delivering news but keeping people informed is now a 24-hour-a-day, 7-day-a-week becomes a trend. Before 24 hour news, people received news reports early in the morning, or in the evening;
Now, people can turn the TV on throughout the day to see what is happening in the world. People can watch the stock market to track their investments and check scores for sports throughout the day. 24 hour news keeps you updated with breaking news on important events happening at that particular time.
Media offers many coverage topics, such as news, weather, politics, and others. People check the news daily, for weather and news updates. People have access to many news sources that they rely on every day, back then, news was not as reliable. The topics available through media are helpful, without those people wouldn't know what was happening.
Many news channels switched to 24 hour news cycle to deliver the news immediate to their audience.
24 hour news cycle have many advantages as well as disadvantages. Advantage of 24 hour news cycle is that we do not need to wait for news.
If we talk about few years back from now, there was only one news channel PTV and they used to deliver the whole day news at 9 pm daily. They had a very little time so they had to manage the time and deliver the whole day important stuff so they delivered only important news at that time and ignored the minor news.
Years ago, people weren't concerned about what is happening around the world as they are today, not only that, but they could not get that information. Before internet or 24 hour news stations, it would take several days for the public to know about something in another part of the world, but now people know what's happening all over the world, because of the 24 hour news cycle.
But now people don’t have to wait for news and minor story became a major story in 24 hour news cycle because they have no time limitation so they give a good amount of time of any news story and provide detailed information of any event.
Now a days, news channels are become business rather than a news channel because there are many numbers of news channels so there is a competition between them. Every news channel wants to breaks the news first. Every news become a breaking news even it is important or not. They require fresh news to fill the news cycle so they do not care about the stuff. When new information, story ideas or breaking news tips are not available, the media is forced to share the same news it has already written.
They only focus to fill the news cycle. Some argue that this repetition has led to apathetic audiences.
The breaking news culture is having negative effect on the people, who are made to believe that everything bad is happening in Pakistan.
24 hour news cycle leads to sensationalism and yellow journalism. News channels are biased. News is not credible anymore. News channels are affiliated with some political parties and they run only on their party agenda. Even when you watch any political show you can clearly identify that this channel is supporting this party for example when you watch Geo you can clearly identify that Geo is supporting Nawaz Sharif government and similarly when you watch ARY news channel you can easily identify that ARY is in favour of Imran Khan’s political party (Tehreek e Insaaf).
From this channels are losing their credibility while people want unbiased news. Biased news is disseminated among the audience and tries to portray the negative image of the other political parties. It looks like a race is going on between news channels. They only want their ratings high than other news channels.
News channels and talk shows are based only on politics now days. They discussed political issues more than social issues .In talk shows different guests from different political parties uses abusive language for each other and journalists enjoy these situations rather than stopping them. The use of language is not appropriate. The belief is that 24/7 news has forced us all to tune out what was previously critically important and, instead focus on less relevant yet more easily digested news bits that have no direct meaning or consequence to our lives .
Media is taking wrong advantage of freedom of speech. Media is a very powerful medium it has the power to control the audience mind and people believe on what media shows so it is the responsibility of the news channels to deliver the truth to their audience. News should be unbiased.
They should inform public to their government deeds. Those news channels seen internationally, their responsibility shall be to portray positive image of their country rather than highlights the issues so that tourism shall be increased. It is beneficial for the country .All news channels should set their limits and they must be responsible to work within the limits. News channels should be the news channels only. Their work should only to provide the news according to their audience requirement.
